Features
Introducing the Extreme Duty all-copper
MCX159-CU chipset heatsink, a whisper-quiet cooling
solution designed for motherboards with overclocked front-side
bus.
- The all-copper forged thin-pin design
provides nominally better performance than earlier MCX159
designs.
- The Ultra quiet (18 dBA) VAPO
bearing Sunon 40mm fan offers superior MTBF to most stock
chipset fans, guaranteeing peace of mind for 5 years or
more.
- This extreme duty heatsink, coupled with
Sunon's whisper quiet and high reliability fan make the
MCX159-CU an ideal companion to our "V" series
heatsinks.
- This solution is also suggested as an
alternative for use with liquid cooling systems in lieu
of a chipset waterblock. It provides in effect more than
sufficient cooling performance without adding unnecessary
restrictions to high-flow cooling systems. This will result
in overall lower temperatures at the CPU and VGA level,
where it really counts.
- The MCX159-CU is shipped with hold-down
mechanisms for both Intel® and AMD® platforms.
See important notes below for compatibility with your
motherboard.

Important notification to users:
due to the extreme variety existing among chipset
retention mechanisms, as well as location of the chipset
relative to the CPU and/or other components, Swiftech
simply cannot keep track of all motherboard configurations,
and guarantee compatibility. As a result, Swiftech's
customer service will respond to specific queries
with respect to motherboard compatibility by referring
users to this page. It is the responsibility of the
user to determine compatibility based on the information
posted below.
|
| As we receive information
from various sources, a "known compatibility"
list for system integration purposes is published below
and will be updated on an ongoing basis. End-users who
will send us a picture of their installed system will
receive a $5.00 credit towards their next purchase of
a Swiftech product (restrictions

How to make sure that your MCX159-CU
will fit on your motherboard ?
The heatsinks ships with two styles
of retention mechanisms:
1. To fasten the heatsink via two
holes through the motherboard (Mostly AMD® systems,
and some Intel compatible Motherboard), use the provided
brackets, posts, and springs.
Brackets allow
adjustments as follows: center to center distance between
mounting holes ranges from 2.05" (52.1mm) to 2.41"
(61.4mm).

2. If your motherboard
uses two or four loops (Always INTEL® systems),
then use the provided wire-clips, as shown below.
Compatibility: center to center diagonal distance between
loops is 3" (77mm).

Wire clips fasten the heatsink
to the motherboard loops in Intel based systems.
This particular fan was selected specifically
for its low noise characteristics.

test value is 0.07°C/W. All tests are performed in
an environmental chamber using Industry standard procedures,
